How To Clean Suede Boots Without Ruining Them

the hermit crab

King David, the author of so many psalms had enough of his fights. He was so soul-matte, so much contested by worries and harassed, that he only wanted to escape to a place of peace and security: " My heart trembles in me and the terrors of death have attacked me .... And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove I would fly away, until I found peace .... I would hasten my escape from the raging wind, before the storm . "(Psalm 55.5 to 9; Schlachter 2000 )

A lesson from nature reveals what happened if we trade the good fight against an easier way and run away from our battle. Recently I read the study by a biologist about crabs, creatures that live in a harsh, dangerous environment between jagged rocks. The crabs are daily thrown around by waves from all sides and attacked by creatures from deeper water. They fight constantly in order to protect themselves. And over time they develop a hard shell, and powerful survival instincts.

give Amazingly, some of the cancer in the family struggle for survival. In search of a safe haven they take up residence in the discarded shells of other sea creatures. These cancers are known as the hermit crabs. By opting for security, they will withdraw from the fight and flee to second-hand prefabricated houses.

But the "safe haven" proves to be cost-rich and ruinous. Due to the lack of fight destroy important parts of her body. Even their bodies waste away due to lack of use. In time, the hermit crab loses all power of motion, as well as vital body parts that are necessary for flight. These limbs fall off easily and let the crab although returned safely, but useless to do anything other than to exist.

grow and flourish In the meantime, those crabs who continued the fight. Its five pairs of legs are fleshy and strong, because they withstand the strong tide. And they learn from their predators to hide by crawling under rock formations sent.

This law of nature is an image of the law of the Spirit. As believers, we are buffeted by wave after wave of difficulties encountered. We look brutal robbers of the powers and forces of Satan in the eye. But if we fight, we become stronger. And we will learn the tricks of the Devil to see if he uses against us. We discover our true Refuge, the "crevice", by trusting Jesus. Only then we are in the midst of our battle truly safe.
